Ethical Framework for a Sustainable World

Earth Charter International and the Center for Environment Education, India, invite you to participate in a major Earth Charter International Conference entitled “Ethical Framework for a Sustainable World” that will take place in Ahmedabad, India from 1 – 3 November 2010. The purpose of this gathering will be to:
- Strengthen efforts for making education for sustainable development central to education practice and training.
- Highlight the contribution of Earth Charter education is making to ESD (e.g., in business, religions, law, non formal, primary, secondary and tertiary education)
- Provide opportunities for participants to share their experiences in using the Earth Charter to reorient education to a deeper understanding of sustainability.
- Capture the spirit of the Earth Charter+10 events held throughout this year and to use the ideas to discuss and launch the vision for the Earth Charter Initiative for the next decade (2011-2020).
The EC+10 Conference in Ahmedabad will be structured around thematic workshops (click here to see the list of workshops). At each workshop participants will have an opportunity to learn and share ideas and experiences for evolving appropriate techniques, processes and indicators relating to the application of the Earth Charter framework and principles within the larger canvas of education for sustainable development (ESD).
